Who we are

The Poland-Ukraine Institute Foundation was founded in 2019. Our main goal is to provide necessary information to Ukrainians living in Kraków and promote their integration, adaptation and development in the new environment.

The Foundation is experienced with implementing projects funded by European and Polish funds.

Since Russia began the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, we started to actively help war victims to find refuge in our city. The Poland-Ukraine Institute Foundation is a member of the Open Kraków Coalition.

What are we doing, in fact?

Information

The UAinKrakow.pl portal operates under the auspices of the Foundation, with about 250 000 views per month. We provide information about the most important events both in the city and the country, talk about the legalization of residence, medical care, employment, education and life in Poland, cover local events and projects of Polish-Ukrainian cooperation. On our portal, Ukrainians coming to Kraków can find out everything they may need.

After the full-scale war has begun, the site regularly publishes information on how to help Ukraine from Kraków, and gives advice for refuge seekers in Malopolska.

Refugee Help Point

Together with the Salam Lab, the “Zustrich” Foundation, “JCC Kraków” and “Szlachetnа Paczka” we have set up a Help Point “Live in Kraków” at 3, Radziwillowska str. (special thank you for this space to Julius Slowacki Theatre)

At this Help Point, people who arrived to Kraków because of war can find temporary accommodation, something to eat, and relax. Also, volunteers are processing applications of locals, who are willing to host refugees at their places. They help to accommodate people who need a shelter.

The Foundation participated in the project until the end of April 2022.

We support families with seriously ill children in need of palliative care in Ukraine and Poland.

We started to support families with kids who have severe diseases and need palliative care in Ukraine and Poland from the very first months of the war.

The Foundation was sending medicines and other humanitarian aid to Ukrainian palliative care offices and NGOs.  Also we helped families with seriously ill children who fled to Krakow and other Polish cities because of the war, to move abroad, adapt to a new country and got basic needs.

Education and Culture

We organize workshops and classes for migrants. During such events, they can both unleash their creative and entrepreneurial potential and learn about opportunities for personal development in Poland.

In addition, the UAinKrakow.pl is an information partner of many cultural events, in particular, the “Art Picnic”  festival and the International Festival of Ukrainian Theater “East-West”.

Informational support

Poland-Ukraine Institute Foundation” gives informational support to other non-governmental organizations and local institutions. In particular, we translate and edit their texts, which are addressed to the Ukrainian speaking public.

Additionally, as a partner of Multicultural center in Krakow, we help them with communication in social media.
